AI Intake Assistant Privacy Notice
This notice explains how the chat assistant on blakeandkenny.ie handles your information. It supplements the firm's main privacy policy. The controller is Blake & Kenny LLP, 2 Saint Francis Street, Galway, H91 CA37.
What the assistant is
The chat window on this site is an AI assistant, clearly labelled as such. It is not a solicitor and it does not give legal advice. Its only job is to take your contact details and the general topic of your enquiry, and to arrange for the right person at the firm to call you back. It is built not to ask for the details of your case; those belong in a conversation with a solicitor.
What it collects
The assistant asks for your name, phone number, email address, and a short description of what you need help with. It also records the conversation itself so the solicitor who calls you back knows what you asked. The page you were reading when you opened the chat is noted, which helps the firm understand which information on its website people find useful.
What happens to it
Your enquiry goes directly to Blake & Kenny's secure dashboard, where a solicitor reads it and decides what happens next. No decision about you is ever made by software. The assistant and the dashboard are operated for the firm by PageMax Digital Limited ("PageMax"), which acts only on the firm's written instructions and holds all data within the EU. Your enquiry is not shared with anyone else and is never used for marketing or to train AI systems.
Health details
If what you type includes health details, for example about an injury, Irish law permits a law firm to receive that information in connection with a possible legal claim. It is treated with the same confidentiality as any enquiry to a solicitor.
How long we keep it
If you do not become a client, your enquiry and the chat conversation are deleted after 12 months. If you become a client, your information is kept under the retention rules explained in the privacy notice every client receives.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information the firm holds about you at any time: email info@blakeandkenny.ie with the subject "Data request". You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact the firm instead of using the chat.
